A long, long time ago I wrote a piece about Jo-Jo Moyes that took her to task for denying that she wrote Romantic Fiction while picking up the healthy cheque that went with winning the Romantic Novel of the Year Award in 2004.

I have learned that Ms Moyes has recently joined the Romantic Novelists' Association, which is great news. It looks like she has realised that there's nothing actually wrong with writing Romance, nor even with being proud of the fact.

Hi Stephen

I did actually post a response to your piece about me - but I think I was so late in doing so that you probably never read it!
I would have joined the RNA much sooner but for various personal reasons everything had to go on the back burner until recently. I'll just say (to save you revisiting your old blogs) that I was always delighted to win the RNA prize and publicised the fact on my own website and all my PR material. I hope to head for a few of the events, too.
Good luck with your writing
Jojo

Jojo - I'm sorry I missed your earlier comment - I hadn't sorted out the whole e-mail notification bit at the time. I hope to meet you at one of the RNA bashes - the Winter Party is good fun (it always rains, but in November one is usually better protected than in May, when it also always rains).
